Marietta

Marietta is the county seat and largest city in Cobb County. With approximately 60,000 residents, it is one of the largest suburbs of the Altanta metro area. It started humbly in 1833, when early settlers built homes near the Cherokee town Big Shanty. Marietta followed a traditional layout, with the town centered around a square with a court house. Today, the Marietta Square is surrounded by shops and restaurants. This area is the perfect place to stroll around and spend a leisurely afternoon with the family. The shops include several galleries and antique shops as well as clothing stores and specialty shops.

Living in Marietta

Marietta is home to a diverse selection of restaraunts. The Hoboken Cafe on Whitlock servest the “best subs and salads anywhere.” Their fresh made mozerella puts their dishes over the top. They also have the best cheesecake in Marietta. The service here is fast and the food is always fresh, making it a perfect place to pop in for a quick lunch. If you want to go out for breakfast, you have to try Mountain Biscuits. Their selection of breakfast biscuts is unmatched. The restraunt is always packed, but the service is quick and the staff is friendly, so you will not have a long, unpleasant wait for your food. If you are going later in the day, try the fried pickles. These, in addition to their biscuts and sweet tea, are a crowd favorite.

If you are in the mood for cuban food, check out the Cuban Diner. This highly rated establishment is owned by a Cuban couple, so you know you are getting the real deal when you decide to eat here. The wait staff is friendly, and the food is farily priced. The most popular dishes include the Mojito Chicken, Yuca fries with garlic sauce, and the black bean soup. This restaraunt is located at the East Marietta Shopping Mall, so you could easily turn a leisurly lunch into an afternoon of shopping and dining.

Marietta Real Estate

Marietta is home to a number of communities of single family homes. The 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom homes in Arbor Forest are perfect for families just starting out. These homes are priced around $200,000 and each have a grassy lawn that is perfect for kids or pets. For $100,000 more, you can have one of the upscale properties in Morningside. These stately, all brick buildings are timeless and project an air of stability. Be sure to take a look at these and other neighborhoods before making your final decision.
